About Harshawardhan
Harshawardhan is a dedicated tabla performer and instructor with over 3 years of teaching experience and a deep-rooted classical foundation in the Benaras Gharana. He began his musical journey at the age of six under the esteemed Pandit Pradip Sarkar, who laid a disciplined and traditional groundwork in Indian classical percussion.
His advanced training under the legendary Pandit Shubh Maharaj Ji has further refined his technique and spiritual understanding of rhythm, melody, and aesthetic in tabla. Harshawardhan continues to be an active disciple, deepening his mastery of the nuanced rhythmic legacy of the Benaras tradition.
He has performed at numerous prestigious classical music festivals, including:
Taj Mahotsav, Agra
Gharana Festival, Delhi
Sangeet Natak Akademi, Lucknow
Bawra Sangeet Sammelan, Jalandhar
Kanthe Maharaj Sangeet Sammelan, Maharashtra
YMU Baithak Series, Delhi and more.
In parallel with his performances, Harshawardhan has earned several accolades:
First Prize – Sangeet Milon National Level Competition
First Prize – State-Level Classical Music Competition
First Prize – Annual Music Competition, University of Delhi
Awards in both solo tabla and accompaniment categories
Holding a B.A. (Hons) in Percussion Music (Tabla) from Delhi University, he now shares his passion through online tabla classes at Art Gharana, mentoring students from across the world. His teaching style blends tradition with innovation—emphasizing clarity, spiritual connection, and individual expression.
Whether you're a beginner or an advanced student seeking the depth of the Benaras Gharana, Harshawardhan's classes provide a structured and soulful learning experience.
