Disciple of Dr. Sanjay Verma, Shruti is an Indian Classical Sitar player. She holds an M. Phil in Music with specialization in Sitar from the University of Delhi.

A regular participant of the Sur Ganga Sangeet Mahotsav in Varanasi, Shruti completed her graduation and post graduation in music from Banaras Hindu University. Time in Varanasi, amidst its colours and culture gave her art the depth that touches souls every time she plays the Sitar.
A consistent winner at competitions across the country, the magic in her fingers becomes evident in her eyes. Be it competitions by the Prayag Sangeet Samiti in Allahabad or the Sangeet Natak Academy in Varanasi and Lucknow, when she plays she leaves no stone unturned.
Sharing her gift with students keen to learn makes her smile with a grace that puts you in a trance. Teaching at Smt. Shiddeshwari Devi Music and Anunaad India Foundation of Performing Arts, as she says, is fulfilling to the core.
Shruti was born into a family of musicians. Music runs in her blood. She learnt the nuances of music before she even learnt to speak. That’s how deep her relationship with music is. Music isn’t just a profession, a career choice for her. For Shruti music holds spiritual significance. It is a form of worship, a kind of dedication that in the hustle bustle of modern life, is rare to find.
