Shreya Raghuvanshi

Shreya has a master’s degree in performing arts from Banaras Hindu University. She has trained in Kathak under Pandit Ravi Shankar Mishra of Banaras Gharana of Kathak. She performs under the Lucknow Gharana.

Shreya has a burning desire to perform Kathak for the rest of her life. Training under Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj, son of Pt. Birju Maharaj post her selection at the Kathak Kendra in Delhi, she feels grateful for her mother who stood by her like a rock, and motivated her to pursue her dream.
Drawing inspiration from the magic that Pt.Birju Maharaj creates in not only his performances but workshops too, Shreya gets extremely excited every time she mentions him. Her eyes light up like that of a child, and her zeal for the art form becomes evident on her face. This is the magic of doing what you love, the child in you continues to live no matter how old you grow.
Shreya’s energy is infectious. When you’re around her, all you want to do is to listen to her talk about the many things that she is in absolute love with. It begins with dance, goes on with food, and transcends into her love for traveling to places she has always dreamt of, and comes back to food though now on the other end, and singing, sketching, reading, and the list goes on and on, her love for life spreading through her laughter.
