Anju has an experience of fifteen years in classical vocal music training. Awarded the Swar Kokila of Uttarakhand in 2016 and the Basant Shri Sammaan of Uttarakhand in 2019, Anju has worked as an artist for Doordarshan, Lucknow.
A Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti in Allahabad and a Sangeet Visharad from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith in Lucknow, Anju has established herself in the field of music as a vocalist and teacher. She holds a record of singing continually for twelve hours added to the Marvelous Records Book of India.
Anju is a rebel of sorts. Even as she enjoys cooking, she reserves her interest in the kitchen to cooking delicacies every once in a while. With a spiritual bent of mind, Anju believes that music is what gives her a purpose in life, without music she’d cease to exist. She had an inclination towards music ever since she was a little child.
Back in her hometown she had no means to train in music, but she kept the desire to learn alive all along and finally began training professionally once she became a mother. Every time she mentions the moment in her life when she decided to begin learning music, she smiles and gives all the credit to her husband who did not give up on his quest of finding her a Guru and encouraged her unconditionally to pursue her dreams.
Anju’s down to earth nature and an undying hunger to learn and grow in the field of music make her a person one would feel fortunate to be around.
